Tributes paid to serving police officer found dead in his home alongside three-year-old old child
A grieving family have paid tribute to a serving police officer and his three-year-old son who were both found dead at home.
DC David Louden, 39, and tot Harrison have been formally identified as the casualties in what cops described as a "tragic incident."
The full circumstances around how they died is still being investigated and police are treating it as "unexplained."
Officers were called to the property in Cairndhu Drive in Kidderminster in the West Midlands on Friday and discovered the serving West Mercia Police officer dead alongside his son
David’s wife Samantha has led tribute to her husband and son, along with their wider family.
In a statement, she joined other family members in expressing their "deep shock, grief and devastation at the loss of two much loved family members."
They said: “David was a kind, loving, considerate, amazing father, husband, son, brother, uncle, friend and colleague. Harrison was a happy, well-loved little boy. They will both be forever missed and loved.”
DC Louden had reportedly lived in the home in Kidderminster in the West Midlands for six months when emergency crews were called just before 9.30am due to concerns about their welfare.
Sarah Cooper, branch chair for the federation, added: “We are all deeply shocked and saddened by this tragic and heart-breaking news.
"We extend our deepest sympathies to all those impacted by this devastating incident and our thoughts are very much with family, friends and colleagues.
“The ripples from this incident will be far-reaching and I know that officers and staff across West Mercia Police will be impacted hugely by this tragedy.
“As a Federation, we will be on hand to support our members through this in any way we can.”
Several tributes have been laid at the scene including teddy bears and bouquets.
