Adorable video of six cats enjoying vegetarian feast in Indian festival
Sebastian Kuruvilla, a resident of Kottayam in southern India, invited his pet cats to enjoy an elaborate lunch prepared to celebrate Onam, a traditional harvest festival in Kerala.
He laid out six banana leaves on the floor and served festival lunch for all the grown up cats, which live with him. The cats waited patiently for him to fill their leaves and then started feasting on the vegetarian fare consisting of rice, vegetables, soup, fruits and desserts.
The family had made it a point to prepare ‘banana fries,’ a favourite dish of the family felines.
The video of a clowder of cats enjoying the Onam meal went viral and turned them into local celebrities.
Sebastian said: “The main draw of Onam is sadya or the festival lunch. Cats are like my children, so I included them in the lunch.”
Sebastian, a UK-educated responsible tourist activist, rescues abandoned and injured cats in spare time.
