CCTV captured the moment a woman and child were dragged under a train in India, that didn't stop even once the alarm was raised.

Miraculously, the pair survived with only minor injuries after their ordeal on Thursday 2 September at Jamalpur railway station.

At around 4.38pm local time, a woman got down from the Lokmanya Tilak Express to Bhagalpur, carrying her small child.

It is common in India for people to board and alight moving trains, which sometimes do not even fully stop in stations.

The woman lost her balance and slid between the train and the platform. Fortunately neither she nor the child went under the wheels of the train.

Although railway police and staff saw the situation, they did not stop the train.

The passenger was 35-year-old Paro Devi, resident in Hawachandra Tola Suryagarha.

On September 2, at around 4.38 pm, when Lokmanya Tilak Express from Jamalpur station opened to go towards Bhagalpur, at the same time a woman got down from the train carrying her small child in the dock, but due to loss of balance, she became between the train and the platform. Entering the empty space, she went under the train. However, during this, efforts were made to save the woman by the RPF and GRP staff posted on the platform. But the woman had gone under the train.
Despite the incident, nothing happened to the woman and the child.

The RPF police became alert and after stopping the train, the child along with the woman was taken out somehow. During that time the female passenger also suffered minor injuries. The injured female passenger is 35-year-old Paro Devi, wife of Bila Mahto, a resident of Hawachandra Tola Suryagarha.
