A red-crowned crane block a motorist's way as it performed its mating dance in the middle of a road in northern China.

Video filmed in the city of Panjin in Liaoning Province on October 11 shows a red-crowned crane standing in the middle of a road with its wings open.

The bird then started to move its wings and spun around as if it were dancing.

The filmer named Tao said the crane danced for around a minute before going into the wetland.

According to reports, the purpose of the dance was to attract a mate.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
