A man causing a controversy in eastern China after he killed eight live crabs after not being allowed to take them on a train.

Video filmed in the city of Yongkang in Zhejiang Province on October 14 shows a man pouring crabs out of a plastic bag onto the floor and asking a train station worker "Which one is still moving?".

After the worker pointed to one crab that was still moving, the man then stepped onto it to kill it.

According to reports, the man was not allowed to bring a bag of eight live crabs onto the train, so he stepped onto them to kill them at the station and then took them onto the train.

The railway officials said fresh agricultural products are banned to take onto the train. But if the crabs were packed properly and the legs were tied up, they could be taken onto the train at some stations.

A heated debate over whether the live crabs should be allowed to take onto the train occurred among the netizens.

Some people showed sympathy to the man as they thought the train station worker was dogmatic and the rule is not clear enough.

But some people supported the train station worker as they thought taking live animals on train is not nice to other commuters, and no one can break the rules.
