A tiger cub that was injured during an encounter with a porcupine is being treated by vets in Valparai, Tamil Nadu.

Upon inspection, the vets identified that the cub had suffered injuries to its paws and body caused by the porcupine's spines.

The vet team said that the cub will be released once they are sure it has recovered from its injuries.

They have also asked for a large cage to hold the cub.

Location: Valparai area of Coimbatore District of Tamilnadu State in South India.

A tiger cub was suffering with serious health issues for the past 13 days. Forest department staffs observed that and and informed vet doctor.

The vet team suggested to treat the cub under their custody and hence the mission to catch the tiger cub was initiated.

Cage was set and the cub was caught. They first inspected the cub. They came to know that the tiger cub would have fought with porcupine and the thorns from the porcupine s body have struck in the paws and the body of the cub.

Some thorns have been removed and it was left in the forest but with a cage.

Vet team inspection was carried out routinely in the dense forest. And they said the cub will be left out only when it's all healthy.

Since the cage was small the cub experienced depression hence the vet doctors asked for a large cage for easy roaming of the cub inside the cage.
