A monitor lizard was caught relaxing in a swimming pool in Thailand.

The Bangkok rescue team arrived at the scene after being informed by a resident about the large lizard taking a dip in their pool on a hot, sunny afternoon.

The two rescue team members caught the creature using a hook and a net before freeing it into the wild.

Rescue volunteer Kitsada Kamlae said: ‘It took us hardly a minute to catch the monitor lizard. The reptile swam right into the net and we carried it up.’
