Tesco blocks Aldi from opening new store in Kent, UK
Footage of the Tesco and Aldi supermarket stores in Sheerness, Kent this afternoon (Nov 9).
Kent Online reports Tesco has blocked Aldi's plans for a new store on the Isle of Sheppey via Judicial Review.
Both supermarkets have stores near each other in Sheerness, but Aldi announced it wanted to close its Sheerness branch and build a new, more modern and bigger store at Queenborough.
Aldi had secured planning permission and was expected to proceed with construction this year, but Tesco challenged Aldi's permission, which has been quashed via Judicial Review.
