A strong wind blew a tent roof onto a woman during a storm in Thailand.

Shocking video shows the canvas suddenly falling on the woman when the gust hit a seafood restaurant in Phetchabun province on November 7.

The tent flew just inches away over the woman and other customers before hitting the restaurant’s door. The wind also blew away pans and a steel pipe that flew past diners and staff.

No injuries have been reported from the incident which happened during a spell of bad weather.

Restaurant owner Phrompat Kanchanakittinun said: ‘It was scary. Luckily the rod only hit the door so nobody was hurt, the injuries would have been serious if it flew onto anybody.’

Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November. Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain, wind, and flash floods.
