This is the heroic moment a stray cat impaled on an iron spike was rescued.

The male moggie squeezed onto the tight space between the roof and a metal fence when its stomach was stabbed by the sharp spikes in Chonburi province, Thailand on January 12 around 5 am.

It could be heard crying loudly from the back of the house so resident Chockchai, 45, searched for the animal and found it injured.

He immediately called the animal rescuers who carefully pulled the animal out before rushing it to the local animal shelter for treatment.

The hose owner said: 'I heard a cat crying and screaming, I thought it was fighting with other strays but it had been too long so I went out.

'I saw that it was hurt so I called for help. Fortunately, it was still alive and removed within ten minutes only by the skilful rescuers.'
