A crow and a Sambar deer shared a unique friendship when the bird helped peck away at the bugs crawling on the big native deer in Sri Lanka's Central Province.

The incident took place in Horton Plains National Park on January 12.

The video features the Sambar deer standing still while grazing as the crow uses its beak to pull out the bugs from its fur.

Deer fur often invites bugs that the critter can't reach but a neighborly nibble from the nearby bird nixes the unwanted gnats.
