Alien-like sea creature wriggles on lady's palm in the Philippines
This is the bizarre moment an alien-like sea creature wriggled on a lady's palm in the Philippines.
Grace Lanit picked up the weird animal while she and her friends were on vacation in Batangas province on November 22.
Footage shows the creature, believed to be a brittle star, using its spindly appendages to crawl down Grace's hand.
Grace said: 'I spotted this little critter while walking around for some fresh air. I decided to post a video to ask what kind of animal it was. I put it back on the beach after filming. It was my first time seeing one up close.'
Brittle stars, also known as serpent stars, are echinoderms or marine invertebrates distinguished by their radial symmetry. They are usually found deep underwater feeding on plankton and detritus. Their arms grow from their disk-shaped bodies, and can regenerate when broken off.
