A pair of white storks hatched four babies on top of transmission tower in China
A pair of white storks hatched four babies on the top of a transmission tower in eastern China.
Video filmed in the city of Gaoyou in Jiangsu Province on February 27 shows four baby white storks being hatched in a nest on the top of a transmission tower.
The pair of white storks started to lay eggs in January this year and four babies were finally hatched after more than 40 days.
The local power supply company will organise a team to protect the storks.
However the nesting action might cause a threat to the safety and operation of the power grid, especially since the bird's excrement is acidic, which is likely to cause breaks in the transmission lines.
The power supply company has reportedly installed more than 1,600 boards on over 600 base towers to prevent them from damaging them.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
