Mechanics removed an aggressive snake from a woman's car engine.

Papitchaya Srirattana contacted local animal rescuers after noticing a snake had entered her vehicle outside a beauty parlour in Chonburi province, Thailand on February 13.

Five reptile specialists arrived at the scene and found the shocked owner standing near her car with hair clips strapped all over her hair.

They sprayed insecticide in the car hoping to force the snake out but after 30 minutes there was no sign of the creature. The team then sent the car to the nearest garage for inspection.

Motorist Papitchaya said: ‘I raced to my car after the street stall owner alerted me about the snake. I think it came to my vehicle to bring me luck.’

After a few moments of checking, the mechanics found the 4ft-long snake curled around the exhaust pipe before it was pulled out and given to animal rescuers.

The woman thanked the mechanics and animal rescuers for their help and said she would use her car's plate number in the lottery as animal encounters were considered lucky in Thailand.

She said: 'The snake interrupted my beauty rest but I know it would bring me good fortune in return. I would try that luck out in the lottery.'

The reptile, identified as a common rat snake, was taken by the animal rescue team and released into the wild.
