This is the disgusting moment mechanics pulled a rotting dead python from a car engine compartment in Thailand.

Car owner Kanyarat took her vehicle to an auto shop in Surat Thani province when she noticed a foul burning odour inside while driving on February 24.

Workers opened the bonnet to check the problem and were shocked to find the dead snake lying limp in the machinery.

Footage shows the mechanics dragging the massive python from the car's undercarriage as onlookers gagged and coughed from the smell.

Kanyarat said: 'I was worried because it smelled like smoke while I was driving. I finally brought the car to my brother-in-law's garage, and they found the huge python in the engine.

'I was amazed by its massive size. I've never seen anything like it.'

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
