Journalist recalls moment he and killed colleague Brent Renaud were fired on in Irpin, Ukraine
US journalist Juan Arredondo recalled the moment he and fellow journalist Brent Renaud were fired on at a checkpoint in Irpin, Ukraine, on Sunday 13 March.
He was speaking at a hospital in the Kyiv area, where he had just been brought for his injuries.
Brent Renaud, who he says had been shot in the neck, died at the scene.
Mr Renaud was an award-winning filmmaker who had previously worked for the New York Times though he was not on assignment for them in in Ukraine, the newspaper said.
