Gas ship arrives from US to supply UK with gas off Kent as energy prices continue to rise
Gas ship 'Diamond Gas Sakura' sailed from Lake Charles, USA to bring gas to the UK's gas terminal on the Isle of Grain in Kent late last night (March 20).
The huge ship was turned around for berthing by three tugs, before being able to discharge its cargo to the National Grid's 'Grain LNG' facility.
The gas is stored compressed inside the ship's hull as Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for safe transport.
UK energy prices continue to rise - straining household budgets.
Footage shows the ship berthed at Grain LNG captured from Queenborough, Kent this morning (March 21) followed by footage of the ship docking late last night (March 20).
