The UK Government are considering plans to triple the UK's solar power capacity by 2030 to meet the UK's energy needs and net zero green targets.

Footage shows 'Tonge Solar Power Station' in Sittingbourne, Kent this afternoon (March 30), a 25 hectare site developed, built, and operated by French company Voltalia.

Large rows of solar panels cover what would normally be farmland, converting solar energy into electrical power to supply the National Grid.

According to the developer's website: "Tonge Solar Farm has a Biodiversity Management Plan to protect the existent plant and animal life on the site."
