Thousands of Catholics came together on Saturday in the town of Izalco in El Salvador for the "Procession of the Holy Burial" to commemorate Easter.

The footage filmed on April 16 shows large crowds and a procession of parishioners carrying elaborately decorated relics in front of a large church.

Izalco is a community with indigenous roots in El Salvador with a strong Catholic community.

Thousands of Catholic parishioners have gathered in the main streets of the town of Izalco, to witness and participate in the procession of the Holy Burial, with which the death of Jesus Christ is commemorated, during the religious activities of Holy Week. Izalco is one of the communities with indigenous roots, in the department of Sonsonate, in which some of the most representative Catholic ceremonies in the country are held.
