Holy Week Easter Parade in Trapani, Italia

Buy video

We were American tourists lucky enough to spend Holy Week in Trapani, Sicily, in Italy (Sicilia, Italia). For days, the Easter Procession went through the small town. Locals told us that they did not sleep or sit down for days. From our AirBNB, we could hear the marching bands nonstop for days, sometimes closer, sometimes further away. This procession is called the Misteri di Trapani, and it has been going on every Easter for over 400 years. Each guild (like Bakers and Shoemakers) has their own heavy religious sculpture, which they carry together. We saw many people purposely barefoot, and children carrying pillows with things like nails on them.
