Four injured when pensioner, 73, crashes car through children's clinic in Thailand
This is the shocking moment a pensione with a bad leg crashed her car through the wall of a children's clinic injuring four people.
Srila Fucharoen, 73, was taking her aunt to a doctor to get a vaccine on April 5. However, while reversing her car on her way back home, she accidentally stepped on the accelerator, causing her to crash into the glass doors of the Surasak Medical Clinic in Chiang Mai province, northern Thailand.
CCTV footage captured how the vehicle rammed through the small clinic, demolishing the counter and flinging the owner and his wife to the floor. Four people were injured from scattered glass shards and the impact of the car but none had any life-threatening injuries.
Clinic owner Dr. Surasak and his wife were busy tending to their patients when the terrifying incident occurred. They both suffered multiple abrasions and have been taken to the Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital for treatment.
Dr. Surasak said: 'One of the patients was filling out paperwork at the counter when the car crashed through the glass door. The crash injured me and my wife, and also the parents who had brought their children for consultations. The driver is an elderly person with a leg problem.'
Officers from the Mae Ping Police Station have seized Srila's car as part of their investigation and have summoned all parties for interviews so they can reach a financial settlement without going to court.
