A tame elephant was given a cool shower in order to combat sweltering temperatures in Puducherry, southern India.

Lakshmi lives in a temple in Pondicherry and workers give her regular showers to prevent her from overheating during the dry season.

Lakshmi is a tamed elephant that lives in a famous temple in Pondicherry. As the temperature is soaring high the temple administration has arranged for 3 shower baths for the temple elephant, which is currently in full swing.

This bath helps the elephant escape from the hot summer days. The vets also does regular inspections to prevent the elephant from contracting the disease during the dry season.
