A Manchester United fan waiting to see the players today said he was heartbroken over Cristiano Ronaldo's absence from the team's Far East tour.

Speaking in the video, Khun Oum said it was his life's dream to see the Portuguese superstar.

He said: 'I've been following Manchester United since Cristiano Ronaldo joined the team the first time. That's when I started supporting for Man U.

'He's a special footballer that inspired me into supporting his team. I followed the team when I was only in elementary school.

'I felt so sad when I learnt that Cristiano Ronaldo would not be coming. I have been following him all this while for more than ten years. I was determined to see him at least one time in my life.'

The struggling football team - without their best player - are staying at The Athenee Hotel in the Lumphini area of the city on the first leg of their lucrative pre-season tour.

Manchester United will play Liverpool in a friendly at the Rajamangala National Stadium on Tuesday evening, July 12.

Ronaldo has refused to join the tour amid rumours he could join rivals, Chelsea.
