More than 4,300 dinosaur footprints have been discovered in northern China.

The drone footage was filmed in Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province and reveals the prints in the mountainous region.

The footprint fossils, covering an area of more than 9,000 square metres, and the rock layer in which they are located dates back around 150 million years.

Xing Lida, an associate professor at the China University of Geosciences, told local media that the rock layer belongs to the period between the Jurassic and Cretaceous.

While it can be inferred from the footprints that the body length of herbivorous dinosaurs could be more than 15 metres and the body length of carnivorous dinosaurs could reach 4 to 5 metres.
