Dozens of loitering wild monkeys ran across railway tracks in Thailand.

Footage shows the troop of primates racing out of the way as the train chugged along Lopburi province on July 30.

The train driver had to honk several times to jolt some of the animals into moving.

Thailand has been battling to control their surging monkey population from before the pandemic started two years ago. Officials had even begun sterilising large numbers of primates.

There are believed to be more than 10,000 monkeys living in the centre of Lopburi, but only 900 of them have been sterilised as of 2020, local media said.
