This is the heart-stopping moment a brave station officer saved a woman from an oncoming train in Thailand.

Station master Koson Rainasuk, 55, shouted to warn the passenger, who had just disembarked from another train and was about to cross the tracks at the Samrong Thap station in Surin province on June 3.

However, the woman appeared not to hear him and continued dawdling into the path of the oncoming express train.

Dramatic CCTV footage shows how Koson leapt across the tracks to block the elderly woman just as the train rumbled past.

The heroic officer said: 'I had already warned her that the train was coming, but she probably didn't hear or didn't pay attention when she disembarked.'

He added that commuters need to always be attentive when crossing the train tracks.
