Footage captured beautify aerial views of an Icelandic town that could be swallowed by lava at any time.

Grindavík is regularly in the news in Iceland thanks to a magma intrusion 2km (1.2 miles) away from the town and a magnitude 5.4 earthquake that struck on 31 July.

A seismic chapter that could last for 200 years has just started on the peninsula where the town is situated, meaning it could be go under lava at any time.

The area is not new to volcanic activity though, with the video showing the town sat beside huge lava fields from historic eruptions.

As the filmer said, the footage is an important record of the settlement as it is now, because "it's not even sure that this town will be there in a few decades.
