A father and his son were rescued after they were stranded on a river island for four days, in eastern India's Odisha.

The incident happened in Amangeikuda in Athagarh Block, Cuttack district on August 17.

Visuals showed the rescue team gearing up for the operation. They wore life jackets and set off for the river island in the Mahanadi river. According to a report, the father and his son had gone to the river island to let their cattle graze when the water level rose up. Due to the rising water level, they were stranded and weren't able to make any contact with the outside world for four days.

The Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) jumped to action upon getting information about this incident. They reached the spot with all the necessary equipment for the rescue and saved the father and son.
