A man has been left "traumatised" after accidentally boiling a "baby chicken".

Ozymandias J Taylor, 18, from Grantham in Lincolnshire, was cooking some eggs for his lunch when he realised something was amiss.

After breaking into one of the eggs, a "thick brown substance" dripped onto his hand and he noticed veins inside of the shell.

When he looked inside the egg, that is when he saw what appears to be a chicken foetus - leaving him "traumatised".

"I started to completely freak out when I saw it as my first thought was that I had killed it by cooking it alive," Ozymandias, who is currently training to be in the RAF, told NeetToKnow.online.

"I spent the next hour or so basically asking both Google and my friends whether or not I was a monster – I sort of concluded in my head that I had no way of knowing really.

"I am hoping and praying that the embryo was dead before I cooked it but I can't really be sure."

After making the gruesome discovery, Ozymandias took to TikTok to share what had happened.

In the video posted online, Ozymandias uses a series of photos to illustrate the unfortunate event.

In the first image, we see a scared looking Ozymandias with the caption: "HELP I JUST BOILED A BABY CHICKEN, THERE WAS A EMBRYO IN MY BOILED EGG YOU COULD SEE ITS HEART AND ORGANS." [sic]

This is then followed by numerous pictures of the chicken embryo, with one of them being captioned: "That's literally a face help me I'm traumatised."

We then see a picture of the embryo in the bin with the text: "Welp guess I'm vegan and pro life now."

Since posting the video online, it has had over 200,000 views and 29,000 likes.

Many viewers were left concerned by the discovery.

Someone wrote: "Oh my god I’m never eating eggs again I’m actually on the verge of tears,"

"I was going to have scrambled egg for breakfast but now I’m not so sure," said another user.

One user commented: "hey I used to work on a farm with chickens and you did NOT kill it, it was already dead, they need to be incubated it’s not your fault."

"Is this where you become vegan now?" questioned another viewer.

Another user wrote: "THIS CAN ACTUALLY HAPPEN?! NI IVE BEEN IMAGINING IT NIT BEING SCARED KBOWING IT CANT HAPPEN BUT WHAT?!!!!"

"OMG I WOULD NEVER RECOVER." added another.

Ozymandias added: "I did the TikTok the next day after a pretty sleepless night – yes, I really was this traumatised – just to trauma dump really.

"It was a coping mechanism more than anything to be honest! Since posting it, I've had a handful of messages and many comments from people saying the same thing – which has really helped to be honest!"
