This is the heartbreaking moment a grieving pet owner said his final goodbye to his beloved Husky in the Philippines.

The devastated fur dad, Danjlou Nayre, cradled the lifeless pooch Tobal in his arms after it had died in General Santos City, South Cotabato province on October 2 - just a week before his birthday.

Danjlou said the canine had lost its appetite in late September.

He claimed he and his family had visited four different vets, but none of them were available as they had attended a medical conference in the capital Manila.

Danjlou said: 'Tobal was acting normal except that he refused to eat. We were about to have him checked on October 2, but it was too late by then.'

The pet owner suspected that Tobal had eaten a frog and eventually succumbed to its poison.

Tobal has been buried in Danjlou's aunt's backyard, where they can visit its grave anytime.
