Kind residents help pick up cash scattered on road in Thailand
This is the heartwarming moment kind residents helped pick up 2,000 GBP worth of banknotes scattered on a road in Thailand.
The motorists scrambled to retrieve dozens of bills littering the asphalt in Khon Kaen province on October 25.
They gathered the cash worth 92,000 THB (around 2,110 GBP) and left it with the Nam Phong district police.
Later, a man named Chatree Fusantae and a woman named Supornthip Pakdee arrived at the station claiming they had lost the money while driving along the road to Ubolrat district.
Supornthip said she had withdrawn the money - 100,000 THB in total - from the bank that afternoon and left it with one of their employees to buy cassava.
However, the absent-minded worker had left the bag on the back of the truck causing it to scatter all over the road.
Police called the bank to verify Supornthip's testimony before returning the money. However, 8,000 THB was still missing, which is believed to have been lost in nearby fields of kept by some of the pedestrians.
Supornthip said: 'I'm grateful to the people who helped us. I don't blame my subordinates as they were extremely sorry for their mistake.'
They added that passers-by along the road can turn the remaining 8,000 THB over to the police.
