This is the heartwarming moment a scooter rider found a stray kitten purring from inside his engine.

Richard Divida heard faint meowing coming from the front compartment of his black Yamaha motorcycle when he arrived home from work in Rizal, Philippines.

Curious about the source of the noise, Richard asked his friends for help to remove the vehicle's panel on the roadside on the evening of June 19.

Footage shows the men unscrewing the covering, and when they pulled it away, they found the Calico kitten meowing continuously inside.

The group could be heard laughing in disbelief at their surprising discovery.

They carefully removed the tiny feline and gently placed it down. A friend then took it inside her home to give the kitten fresh water and a meal.

Richard said: 'I wanted to take care of the cat because it's said to bring good luck, but since I don't have time and worried it might suffer, I gave it to my friend who loves cats that same night. The kitten is with her now.'
