Footage shows hanging lights shaking as a magnitude 5.5 magnitude earthquake rocked Italy this morning November 9.

The resident woke up to the tremors and said she 'felt like she was in a disco' following the quake, which struck 25 km from Senigallia in the province of Ancona.

Officials said that houses shook for several seconds on the Adriatic coast. There was minor damage but no casualties from the quake, which struck at a depth of five miles at 7:07am local time.

It was felt in Rome in the west and Bologna in the northeast as well as across the Adriatic in Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
