A woman quickly pulled her 1-year-old son out after one of his shoes got stuck in an escalator in southern China.

CCTV footage filmed in the city of Nanchang in Jiangxi Province on November 15 shows a woman holding her twin boys on an escalator.

When they were about to walk off, a boy's shoe and trouser leg got trapped in the side of the escalator.

The mother pulled the boy away immediately, leaving one of his shoes and trousers there.

According to the boy's grandfather Mr Zhang, security stopped the escalator and took the trousers out.

Although the trousers were damaged, the boy was not injured.
