Doctors at the Kyiv Heart Institute successfully operated on a child's heart despite a blackout.

Footage filmed on November 22 shared by the hospital with permission shows doctors operating on the child.

Borys Todurov, a cardiac surgeon, said the surgery on a child was underway as the electricity went off.

"Rejoice, Russians," he says ironically in the video. "Today, the child is on the table and during the operation, the lights went out completely. Well done. Very humane people,"
