A large truck's wheel came loose and wrecked a dessert shop's roof in Thailand.

Footage shows the 18-wheeler cargo truck passing by, closely followed by a tire after it broke off in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province on November 28.

The wheel then rolled towards the side of the road where it struck a small sweets shop and left it damaged.

Although no one was hurt, shop owner Saengduan Kuijat, 53, wanted the driver to pay for the repair costs.

Saengduan said: ‘I was out in the market buying ingredients for my stall. A friend informed me about the tire so I quickly went to check it.

‘It would cost me 10,000 baht to repair this. The driver should take responsibility.'

She found the damaged stall and called towing services to lift the heavy tire off the roof. The tire remained at the mechanic's garage.

A copy of the CCTV was also sent to the police to find the truck driver. Investigations are ongoing.
