A fire broke out at a shopping mall in Ningde, East China's Fujian province, on Wednesday morning, trapping more than 100 kindergarten children.

The blaze started in a flower shop in the commercial block in the city at about 11:00 Wednesday and spread through the building to the kindergarten located on the second floor.

Some children were taken to safety by adults in the kindergarten while others were waiting to catch them on the ground.

By 14:00, all the children were rescued and the injured ones were taken to hospital, according to the Fujian public security fire brigade on Sina Weibo, China's micro-blogging platform.

No casualties have been reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

9月16日中午11时许，福建宁德蕉城区的菊池大厦发生火灾。位于大厦内的一幼儿园多名小朋友被困。所幸幼儿园的楼层不高，一些受困的孩子被从楼上抛下，被楼下的人们接住。目前暂无人员死亡，部分受伤的孩子被送往附近医院救治，现场救援还在进行。
