A terrified housewife searched for a wild monitor lizard that invaded her family's home.

Chengkeaw Saelee called the rescuers to her house after the 4ft-long reptile was seen slithering in her garage in Nakhon Pathom province, Thailand on December 6.

She helped the volunteers look for the creature around the house but when it did surface, the scared mum-of-one fled in fear.

Footage shows Chengkeaw filming as she went around the house to find the animal until it crawled out of the house to the street.

She said: ‘Everyone was looking for the lizard. I went out of the house when I heard the shouts, but then it came crawling out.'

The rescue volunteers followed the animal along the street until it slipped down a canal.

No one was hurt or damaged in the incident and the housewife thanked the volunteers and neighbours for their help.
