Smoke billows from burning wreckage of plane crash that killed 68 in Nepal
This is the moment smoke billowed from the wreckage of a plane that crashed killing 68 in Nepal on Sunday.
Footage shows dark plumes of smoke rising from the fallen Yeti Airlines ATR-72 plane while locals approached the flaming debris on January 15.
The turboprop short-haul jet carrying 72 people had taken off from the capital Kathmandu and was flying to Pokhara when it reportedly lost contact with a control tower.
The weather was reportedly clear when the crash occurred.
Rescuers combed through the hillside near the crash site and have so far recovered 68 bodies, including two people believed to be South Korean nationals. The cause of the accident is still unclear.
Sunday's crash has been labelled the worst aviation disaster in three decades in Nepal, a nation with fickle weather and mountainous areas said to contribute to the accidents.
