A sunflower field was opened to tourists at a park next to an expressway road in Thailand.

Footage shows hundreds of yellow blooms planted in the garden while a couple of tourists walk by in Nonthaburi province on the outskirts of the capital Bangkok.

Local officials have been improving the 9,000 sqm flower field next to Si Saman Expressway since 2021.

The sightseeing spot was opened until the evening before the flowers withered and were expected to last until the second week of January.

Tourists took selfies among the fully-bloomed giant sunflowers at a park during the cooler winter season in Thailand.

The sunflower blooms were expected to last the whole month of January before they wilt when temperatures begin to soar to the mid-30s in degrees Celsius.
