A newborn puppy was revived with CPR after being buried under a pile of sand at a construction site.

The pooch was heard crying by workers who called for help when they noticed it was having trouble breathing in Pathum Thani province, Thailand on January 12.

Footage shows a volunteer holding the the creature while her team removed soil from its mouth and nose.

The dog was weak and stopped moving so she quickly applied pressure on its chest to save it.

Onlooker Lichen Putthes said: ‘The stray dog gave birth on a pile of sand and we didn't see it. We just found the puppy almost dying so we called for help.

‘I was bitten by the puppy when I tried to take it and wounded. I had a 4cm deep wound on my hand.'

The pooch was revived after the rescue mission and the dogs were taken to an animal shelter.
