To celebrate the 2574 Chinese New Year, the Chinese community in Padang City, who are members of the United Firm Association (HBT), held a lato-lato competition.

Dozens of children, from the ages of eight to twelve, competed with each other to show their skills in the competition.

Where are the rules in the competition, the lato-lato which are the size of a golf ball must bounce from top to bottom and vice versa for five minutes without stopping. if one of the players stops when the time is not up, then that player is declared a failure in the match.

In this competition, participants were not only asked to play while standing but were also challenged to play in a squatting and rotating position.

Latto-latto is a toy in the form of two plastic balls with a solid, hard weight and a smooth surface tied together by a string with a finger ring in the middle. This is a type of dexterity game that relies on physical skills.

This toy is played by swinging it either slowly or quickly until the pieces collide with each other and produce a distinctive sound. The collision of the two ball pendulums on the latto-latto, which emits this distinctive sound, is an attraction that makes the players addicted to repeating it over and over again.

This game first appeared in the United States in the late 1960s under the name "clackers balls" toys, and it quickly gained popularity in the early 1970s.
