Hundreds of dancers and drummers entered the Guinness World Record book for the largest Bihu dance and performance in India's Assam. Bihu is a traditional dance form performed during the spring festival of Rongali Bihu.
11,304 artists joined the event at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on April 13. The performance included the use of traditional instruments such as the "dhol", "pepa", "gogona" and "toka".
The maxi dance took place in the presence of an adjudicator from the Guinness World Record headquarters in London.
The cost of entering the Guinness Book of World Records was covered by the Assam government's culture department.
"On Friday 11,000 dancers and musicians will perform Bihu in front of the Prime Minister", chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the ceremony which includes the delivery of the Guinness World Record certificate.
