In the yard of a house in Tengsaw, Silungkang 2 , Kota Sawahlunto , West Sumatera , a rare flower of the genus Amorphophallus bloom. The local call this flower is bunga Suweg ( Amorphophallus paeoniifolius ). Suweg (Amorphophallus paeoniifolius) is a member of the genus Amorphophallus and is still closely related to the giant corpse flower (A. titanum) and iles-iles (A. muelleri). Suweg is often mixed up with iles-iles because both produce edible stem tubers and there are similarities in leaf morphology during the vegetative phase. Another name is porang, although this name is also used for iles-iles. Names in other languages: elephant foot yam[1][2] or stink lily (English), teve (Tonganese), jimmikand, suran, chenna, ol (Bengal), and oluo (Odia).
