A wild monkey that climbed into a woman's home was safely rescued by a wildlife team in Thailand.

The frantic male Colobinae scaled Sunee Panphet's front door while being chased by dogs in front of a store in Chonburi province on May 21.

Seeing the mutts barking at the hapless primate, kind Sunee opened up her house to shelter the animal. She then called wildlife officers as the monkey had been injured from a dog bite on its left pelvis.

Footage shows the animal handlers coaxing the Colobinae, which was still scared and was seen trying to climb out through a window. Despite being wary, the animal was not aggressive, and rescuers managed to corner it and place it inside a cage within 20 minutes.

Sunee said: 'I saw the monkey falling from an electric pole before being chased by wild dogs. I felt sorry for it, so I let it inside my home.'

The Good Samaritan also offered to drive the injured Colobinae - a protected animal in Thailand - to the Khao Chi-On Non-Hunting Area for treatment herself as she was concerned about its injury.

Colobinae are medium to large-sized Old World Monkeys found in different climates across Africa and Asia.

They usually eat leaves, fruits, and insects, and are commonly arboreal, though some species prefer to live on the ground.
