A recycling enthusiast turned a vintage jerry can into a mini-shelf.

The DIY fan bought the old military can from a garage and took it home to his workshop to repurpose in Chachoengsao province, Thailand on June 1.

Footage shows the enthusiast, named Sorasak, measuring the object to plan his passion project.

He drilled holes in the can's corners and cut off one side before cleaning off the rust using a disc grinder.

After cleaning, he used a tool to make the can smooth and painted it with a black spran can.

He said: ‘I buy my materials from antique stores and hope to give new life to them. I am happy with my creations.'

The jerry can shelf can be used to store small trinkets and books, which would look good in a study or the living room.
