A huge water storage jar was spotted spinning in floodwaters unleashed by Typhoon Bualoi.

Sutita Wongsasinchai and her colleagues were surveying a flood-hit area in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, on September 28, when they saw the massive container whirling around in a waterlogged pathway.

Sutita said: 'While our team was out surveying the flood in the area, we came across a jar like nothing we've ever seen before.

'We had to leave it floating like that because the floodwaters were still too high to handle it, and nearby villages needed help. We had to hurry and bring food and relief bags to distribute to the villagers.'

The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall on Monday and Tuesday across the North, Northeast, East, and the western coast of the South, as Typhoon Bualoi continues to influence weather conditions in the region.

Bualoi hit Vietnam early Monday morning with winds reaching 130 km per hour, leaving at least 19 people dead and 88 others injured.

The freak weather had previously caused at least 20 deaths in the Philippines and forced hundreds of thousands of families into evacuation centres.

It has now weakened into a tropical depression as it moves towards northern Laos.
