Two drivers were locked in a shocking, cat-and-mouse road rage battle after an SUV repeatedly rammed a white van.

Stunned onlookers filmed the horrifying moment as the black BMW X5 slammed into the side of the Vauxhall Vivaro.

It then went in front of the van before reversing back into it and a loud crash was heard.

The BMW then gets behind the other vehicle and shunts it down the road as it tries to speed off.

The van is smashed into again and ends up side on to the road in the 36-second clip.

The driver manages to do a 180-degree turn and then mounts the pavement to try and evade the BMW.

The two vehicles then disappeared as they both sped off down the hill, in the Isle of Dogs, east London on June 21.

From another angle, another witness filmed the BMW with its rear bumper hanging off pursuing the van in the 14-second video.

One local said: “Meanwhile in the Isle of Dogs some crazy road rage went on.”

Another Sam Robinson added: “People get so angry on the road it’s embarrassing.

“Grown adults. Pathetic.”

But another, named Duncan, said: “Must be more than road rage.”

Yusuf said: “How’s the van getting bullied, man up.”

It was compared to scenes from the Grand Theft Auto computer game or the Fast and Furious movies.

Oscar said: “New GTA 6 looks class.”

Another joked: “Fast and Furious UK Drift.”

George  quipped: “Banger racing.”

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 5.19 pm on Wednesday, 21 June to Prestons Road E14 after reports that a car had rammed another vehicle.

“The occupants had left the scene prior to police arrival.

“There were no reported injuries.

“No arrests, enquiries are ongoing".
