INFERNO : GIANT FIRE , HUGE BLACK SMOKE, INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX DESTROYED IN THE SWISS ALPS,
A fire erupted thursday July 6, 2023 in late afternoon / early evening and quickly grew to a huge destructive inferno.
This was in an industrial zone of Vétroz, a village Valais canton in southwest of Switzerland ( I live in Vétroz ) .
It was very windy that day and rather warm , so this made it worse.
Dozens and dozens of firefighters arrived from many neighbouring towns, over a hundred firefighters .
They fought all night and the next day , too.
During the night the winds calmed down and so they managed to contain the fire.
Several businesses and appartments were destroyed.
The fire apparently started when a quad ( 4wd allterrain motorbike ) caught fire outside a garage and the fire quickly spread to nearby plastic bottles and from there it hit the building and went ballistic, out of control.
I talked to a police officer , he said he had never seen anything like this in 25 years of carreer in the local police.
filmed with a Sony AX 53 handheld.
1080p 50fps
I also shot some scenes with 2 other cameras ( Canon R8, R5C ) , will upload asap separately.
first part of the video was shot at the site. Then later from a hill overlooking the Rhone valley.
