STORYLINE:
 
As the 31st FISU Summer World University Games is approaching, rail service authorities in China's Chengdu, the host city, are gearing up for the Universiade with better services.
 
Chengdu East Railway Station is one of the busiest railway stations in China. 
 
Now, the Universiade is taking more visitors to the southwestern Chinese city. 
 
On Thursday alone, the railway station handled 210,000 passengers.

"After months of planning and design, Chengdu East Railway Station has built itself into a Universiade-themed railway station. We have opened an express entry for passengers going to the Universiade and built a special waiting area to provide better service for our passengers. We also set up art installations related to the Universiade and its mascot to promote the culture of the Universiade."
 
A special train service will also be opened during the games, linking downtown Chengdu with several popular tourist attractions in its suburbs. 
 
The Chengdu Universiade will be held from July 28 through August 8, showcasing a total of 18 sports.
